Hive Science is a seed-stage funded startup inventing new technologies at the intersection of social psychology, behavioral science & AI/ML. We’re currently co-developing product with major brands including Land Rover, Coca-Cola, Weight Watchers, Edward Jones and other cross-industry companies to drive growth in entirely new ways. We’re looking for someone to join our team and get on board this rocket ship as we have fun transforming industries and quantitatively scaling these sciences in entirely new ways.
About the role:
We are seeking a full stack developer that can build, shape and maintain our front-end and back-end AWS architecture. A unique opportunity to drive various efforts in standing up customer-facing technology & experiences, from design through to implementation. Prepare for & lead design sessions, support evolution of our products through client co-development & feedback, and work with the internal product team as we enhance our customer experience. The ideal candidate has at least a few years of experience in full stack engineering in an AWS cloud environment, with hands-on experience end-to-end. Ability to take projects from design through to realization.
Requirements:
• 3+ years of experience with AWS and API development (at a minimum experience with S3, API Gateway, IAM Identity Center, Lambda)
• Advanced proficiency JavaScript
• A Computer Science degree or equivalent
• Highly motivated & self-driven
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills:
• Experience building or shaping front-end user interfaces
• Data visualization skill (D3)
• Experience building mobile-responsive web applications
• Proficiency in HTML/CSS
• Great architecture chops
• Experience navigating offshore team/contractors
• Detail-oriented planner, great communicator & generally fun to be around (we’re a start-up inventing new tech, we have a lot of fun!)
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate directly with product management, marketing, design, data science, and data engineering on building out new product features
• Help build and maintain Hive’s User Interface
• Help shape front end architecture and various platforms (customer portals, web apps, etc)
Additional Details:
• Hybrid, with preference given to candidates in Durham, NC & Minneapolis, MN.
• Compensation to be discussed with candidate.
